SAYING YES TO YOUR DREAM

Martin Luther King, Jr made the greatest speech of all time that turns around the history of the Unites States of America delivered on August 28, 1963, in which he called for an end to racism in the United States. Delivered to over 250,000 civil rights supporters from the steps of the Lincoln Memorial during March on Washington for Jobs and Freedom. The speech was a defining moment of the American Civil Rights Movement.  About fifty years ago now, we now enjoy the reality of the dream of this great man. Though he was assassinated, but the most important thing is still speaking till now – His dreams.

He added; “Our lives begin to end the day we become silent about things that matter.”

Where were you when Martin Luther King, Jr. declared publicly his dream? Of course many of us would still be far from being born then, but today, you can see clearly the reality of the dream. Generations to come will only know you by your dreams you bring to reality in your time today. Remember, your dreams must not center on self. It must glorify God and centers on others.

According to George Hegel that says “Life has a value only when it has something valuable as its object”. Dream is what makes a man up front to start doing something with his life. If there is a man that is not running or aiming at anything in life, such person is yet to have a dream.

Just like fuel is important in a car or generator to start working or moving, so is dream in the life of a man. It is the fuel that keeps a man going.

A life without a dream is a life careless life that does not give a damn about where he ends up. Dream to its possessor has a way of propelling the dreamer to his desired destination. As small as it beginning may be, can g row and expand to become something great when stacked to.

The dream of a man is the power point and the driving force of his life. Many people do not look forward to anything because they lack the power point of life – dream. A dreamless man will always be wanderer in life.

A life without cause is a life without effect. Your dream is what God wants to use to bless others. It is what God want to use to fulfill the dream of others. Dream gives life a meaning. It creates a kind of strength and energy that propels obstacles to give way. Dream gives courage and courage gives action to press on. With your dream alive, the future is bright and attainable.

Just like Joseph the dreamer, dream in the life of its possessor gives an edge over his brethren. It makes its possessor stand tall in the midst of others.

Gen. 37:7 

And he (Joseph) dreamed yet another dream and told it to his brethren, and said, Behold, I have dreamed a dream more; and behold the sun and moon and the eleven stars made obeisance to me. Gen; 37:9

It is always the beginning of great things to come when a man starts dreaming; Joseph saw something great in his dream;. The sun, moon and the eleven stars symbolizes something special. The sun brightens; dream brightens the life of its possessor. The moon gives light in the night; dream moons its possessor. And the eleven stars; dream beautifies the life of the dreamer.

Without a dream, life becomes boring and stagnant. Dreams makes life worth living, it energizes and inspire the inner man to its full capacity. It changes a man’s approach to life and increases his creative ability.

Every difficulty a man finds himself in the course of his dream only increases his value. Just like Joseph, there is a “coat of many colors” which symbolizes honor in your dream.

Say YES to your God-given dream and say NO to anything that stands as Potiphar’s wife in the way of your dream. A man can do anything if he sticks to it long enough. Like Joseph, any difficulty or unpleasant things that happen in the course of achieving your dream are design to arrange the fulfillment of it. Don’t mind whatever your dream is passing through now. They are only working for its fulfillment. You can make it happen.  

Every great, beautiful and well-structured building you see in our world today was first a dirty, unattractive and inhabitable building in the process of his construction. You would not want to live in it why it is still under construction but you would gladly do the moment it is well painted and furnished. So stick to your dream, keep working on it, eventually it will start working for you.
